Avonmore would like to congratulate the GPs of Spintop Fund II (a VC fund focussed on early-stage investments in the Nordic region in which we are Limited Partners) on achieving an exceptional sale of their portfolio company, Small Giant Games, to Zynga for an Enterprise value of US$700M. Spintop II made their initial investment into Small Giant Games back in 2014 when it was still a pre-revenue business; further proof that excellent returns can be seen from European early-stage investing.

Trouva has just announced the appointment of a new Chairman and expansion of its international rollout to Copenhagen, Amsterdam and Madrid, following its launch in Berlin earlier this year.

Congratulations to Cocoon Capital, the SE Asia early-stage fund run by Avonmore partner, Michael Blakey, that has just announced the first closing of its new US$20M SE Asia fund that follows on from its initial $7M fund in 2016.

Congratulations to portfolio company CareLineLive, on having raised a further £550k from existing investors, including Avonmore, to continue its software rollout. CareLineLive is a market-leading cloud-based software product that provides efficiency, engagement and management tools to the fragmented but growing, domiciliary-care agency market.

Avonmore is pleased to announce that it has recently invested into the Series B funding round of RoadMap Systems. RoadMap is a UK-based optical network technology spinout from Cambridge University's Centre for Advanced Photonics and Electronics and is developing wavelength-selective switches that help telco/data networks cope with their problem of a burgeoning bandwith requirements.

Congratulations to portfolio company Trouva for the recent announcement of being part of the #Tech5UK 2018 as well as being the 2nd fastest growing tech company in the whole of the UK #TNW2018.

It has just been announced that portfolio company Virtual IT has been awarded the 'Just IT Apprenticeship Employer of the Year Award' for the category of up to 150 employees, as well as being a finalist in another segment. Whilst investors often focus on top and bottom line growth, providing a good working environment/training for staff we consider extremely important for both attracting and retaining good employees. Congratulations to the whole Virtual IT team for this great award.

Avonmore has recently completed a significant investment into Reposit. Reposit offers Renters/Landlords an insurance alternative to the, often financially-onerous 6-week deposit required for residential lettings, replacing it with a simple 1-week’s fee. This helps both renters, who often have to borrow in order to pay for deposits, but also landlords who can now offer their property to a wider pool of potential renters but with the same security as the traditional deposit scheme. Further details will be released in due course.
